ABoUT LAUNDRY GUY
I've done laundry since I left home. But it really ramped up when my wife asked if I'd take the reins after our daughters were born. I said yes, and it might have saved my life.
5,000+ loads later, and I love it.
Laundry is one of the few things that turns up every single week, no matter what. Work can be a mess. The kids can be feral. The news can be grim. You could be on the verge of burnout, like I was — and the basket fills up anyway.
That turns out to be the point.
No matter how hard life gets, here's a job you completely control. When everything else feels out of your hands, that's not nothing. Some weeks it's everything.
That's good for our minds. And that's the whole idea behind Laundry Guy.
The laundry is the place you duck off to. Somewhere to think, watch that movie, listen to that podcast, message a mate, finish that Call of Duty level, and deliver bloody great laundry while you're at it.
Then there's the kit. Do anything every week for years and you start to care about the gear. The right washer, dryer, soaker, iron and pegs. And let's not forget the right snacks and beer.
Our fathers went to the shed. We're off to the engine room.
To take real load off your partner. To show your kids what pulling your weight looks like. And to carve out time that's properly yours, guilt-free, in a world that doesn't hand men much of it.
I'm a girl dad, and I coach leaders for a living. But this isn't that. Men are slow to reach for anything that looks like help, so Laundry Guy is the side door. No lecture, no charity. Just peace and quiet, banter, and a community of men stepping up with mental fitness quietly built into the deal.
