Why Mental Health Matters At Laundry Guy

Your mental health matters.

I started Laundry Guy to help my wife who was doing everything at home. She asked if I could take over the laundry and I said, ‘You bet!’

I didn’t realise it at the time but the sorting, washing and arranging became a safe retreat from the fullness of life. At the end of a weekly laundry session, my wife had one thing less to do. I also had the family back in clean clothes and I could bask in the glory of being the laundry guy…and deliver a solid set of dad jokes and banter that made my daughters chuckle.

Here’s my message: Quality alone-time is super important to your mental health.

That time to reflect, listen or watch something that’s been on your list or just a bit of peace and quiet can make all the difference. Of course, here at Laundry Guy we add kit, tips and banter to help you carry the load and get that quality alone time ;)

And yes, this extends to getting young men in the groove too so if you’re a mother about to send their son into the world, they need to join us!

Seriously though, lads, if you feel anxious or depressed, know that asking for help isn’t a good thing, it’s a great thing! That might start with a friend, family member or your doctor.

Thanks to the great guy over at Man Anchor, here is a great collection of resources you can use - get after it!

The good news is that mental health is a journey. So is laundry (!) and that’s a match made in heaven.

Take care, brother!
